When Is The Best Time To Pin On Pinterest?
If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know by now that I love getting all the latest stats and research on how to effectively use Pinterest. As a Pinterest consultant & writer I don’t write fluff because I’m one of those people who simply wants to get to the bottom line. I prefer to get straight to the point.
As a Pinterest consultant one of my jobs is to decipher when to pin so I can maximize the odds of getting my images repined. I have come across case studies that claim they know the best time or day to pin on Pinterest. Well I can tell you right now that it’s not black and white and there are many things you need to consider before you star pinning your heart out.
Bottom line: It really depends on your business and your audience. Here’s some things you need to figure out so you can maximize your time on Pinterest:
Step 1: Who is your target market?
Focus on understanding your audience. Determine when your followers might be on Pinterest and schedule your pins around that time.
- What do they read, watch, attend and listen to?
- What do they really like or find interesting?
- What’s their age and gender?
- Where do they live?
- What is their lifestyle?
- What are their interests?
Pretend you are a Pinterest consultant.
Your target market might be spread out across various time zones so that will definitely have an effect on when you should be pinning.
Step: 2: How do they spend their time?
We’ll assume at this point that you know the demographics of your target market. The next step is to start thinking about how they spend their day.
Is you typical audience a 9 to 5 working woman? A stay at home mom? As a an example a working woman will have a lunch break, then possibly go to the gym after work, have dinner, then watch TV. Sounds to me that she might be on Pinterest before she goes to bed. But then how does she spend her weekends? You need to think about that too which is maybe why Pinterest is busier during the weekends. I can tell you right now that for me, weekends are NOT the best days that I get the most repins.
Step 3: Consider the case studies and statistics
The bottom line:
The best time to post on Pinterest is when your audience will see it. And this is going to be unique to you and your business. No matter what you need to experiment.
Pinterest Consultant Actionable Tip: Create a calendar and mark down how many followers you received each day. Pick the same time everyday. Track it for at least three months and you will definitely see which days are trending best for you. Be mindful of holiday season and long weekends for the most obvious reasons.
