Pinterest Marketing Expert Reveals Why You Shouldn’t Link Your Facebook Account To Pinterest
Are you using Pinterest for business? Are you doing it the “right” way?
Unfortunately I am seeing too many of the same mistakes being made over and over by businesses, they have unwittingly set themselves up to fail and underperform from the get-go.
One of the vital tactics to ensure you are maximizing your efforts on Pinterest is to share your pins across all your social networks. This not only increases your brand awareness but it will certainly spread the word about what you have to offer. An powerful feature that Pinterest offers is to promote your content through Facebook and Twitter. This way your pins will also be shared with your friends on Facebook. This is a great way to publicize your Pinterest presence and get more followers.
To do this go to your “SETTINGS” and turn the sIider “on”
So what happens now? Here’s what it all means:
Login with Facebook – this means you have the ability to login to Pinterest through your Facebook Profile Page (which is your personal Facebook page)
Link to Timeline – this means when you pin an image on Pinterest it will show up on your Facebook Timeline and NOT your Facebook Page (which is your Facebook page for business).
Here’s why you shouldn’t link your Facebook Profile page to Pinterest:
If you’re a one man show or you’re the primary voice to your small business then it makes sense to to link your Pinterest to your Facebook. Your Facebook Profile page is your personal Facebook so if you think that there’s content on there that you don’t want to share with your Pinterest followers then turn the slider “off”. (see image below) First impressions are everything so really think this through.
I’ve seen too many large businesses make this mistake and I’m going to assume they had an inexperienced Pinterest user open their account. I’m all for reducing costs in business but it’s not worth it if it’s you’re using an inexperienced Pinterest user who is going to cause you a huge embarrassment!
